FAQ
-
What is Ecosoft ECOMIX® C filter media used for?
ECOMIX® C is a blend of ion exchange and sorption materials for treating problem water in domestic, commercial, and industrial systems.
-
What contaminants does ECOMIX® C remove from water?
ECOMIX® C reduces hardness, iron, manganese, ammonium, and natural organic matter. It reduces organic matter by 80%.
-
Is Ecosoft ECOMIX® C suitable for well water treatment?
Yes. ECOMIX® C is suitable for well water and municipal water with high organic matter. It can be used when raw water quality changes seasonally.
-
Does ECOMIX® C help soften hard water?
Yes. ECOMIX® C helps soften hard water. The filter capacity and service cycle are calculated based on water hardness.
-
Can I use ECOMIX® C only to remove organic matter?
It is not recommended to use ECOMIX® solely for organic matter reduction. However, ECOMIX® C can effectively reduce organics and color while also softening well or municipal water. The system capacity should still be calculated based on the raw water hardness.
-
Is it necessary to install a sediment filter before ECOMIX® C?
Yes, it is highly recommended. Fine particles can clog the media surface and reduce ECOMIX® C efficiency.
-
How does TDS change after treatment with ECOMIX® C?
TDS may increase by about 10% compared to the original level. This occurs because hardness cations are replaced with harmless sodium ions during ion exchange.
-
Can the tank be completely filled with ECOMIX® C?
No. The tank must have at least 40% freeboard above the ECOMIX® C bed to ensure proper regeneration.
-
Can ECOMIX® C be used for iron and manganese removal in water with low hardness?
It is not recommended. ECOMIX® C performs best when the water contains sufficient hardness ions, which help maintain the optimal balance between all components of the media.
