Ecosoft Ecolite Soft strong acid cation exchange resin is a high-capacity gel-type resin in sodium form, designed for effective hardness reduction in both residential and commercial systems. The spherical beads ensure excellent hydraulic properties, uniform flow distribution, and efficient regeneration.

Ecolite Soft is chemically, physically, and thermally stable, providing consistent softening performance and long service life. It effectively removes calcium and magnesium ions from water, preventing limescale formation and protecting plumbing and appliances. The resin is easily regenerated with standard NaCl brine and maintains reliable operation under a wide range of conditions.

  • It is primarily designed for hardness removal. For water with high iron content, a specialized mixed-media ECOMIX® is recommended.

  • The typical working exchange capacity is approximately 1 g-eq/L, which corresponds to about 50 g CaCO₃/L of resin under standard operating conditions.

  • Yes. It is recommended to install a sediment pre-filter (20–100 µm) before the softener to prevent clogging and extend the resin’s service life.

  • You can estimate it using a simple formula:

    Volume Capacity (m³) = Ecolite Soft volume (L) × [Ion-exchange capacity (g CaCO₃/L) ÷ Influent hardness (ppm CaCO₃)],
    where the ion-exchange capacity of Ecolite Soft is 50 g CaCO₃/L.

     

    For example, if an Ecosoft 14x65 water softener is filled with 100 L of Ecolite Soft and the influent water hardness is 200 ppm CaCO₃, the treated water volume before regeneration will be 25 m³.
