Product information
Ecosoft ET-24 ultraviolet water sterilizer is designed for large residences and light commercial applications such as villas, small cafés, and boutique hotels. With a maximum flow rate of up to 5.4 m³/h, it provides stable UV disinfection for higher water demand and multi-point distribution systems. The unit inactivates up to 99.9% of bacteria and viruses at the DNA level, ensuring reliable biological safety.
The system delivers 100% physical UV treatment without chlorine or chemical additives, preserving the natural taste and odor of water. A high-purity quartz sleeve ensures efficient UV transmission, while the stainless steel housing provides durability in demanding environments. With up to 9,000 hours of lamp operation, ET-24 offers dependable, long-term performance with minimal maintenance.

FAQ
-
Why should I replace the UV lamp every year if it still glows blue?
The blue light is only a visual indicator that the lamp is on. Over time, the UV-C intensity that inactivates bacteria and viruses gradually decreases. After about 9,000 hours of operation (approximately one year), the lamp may still appear bright, but its disinfection performance is no longer sufficient for reliable protection.
-
Should I unplug the UV system when water is not in use?
No, we do not recommend switching the system on and off frequently. This can reduce the service life of the UV lamp and ballast. In addition, the lamp requires a warm-up period to reach full intensity, so immediate water use after restart may result in insufficient disinfection.
-
Can a UV sterilizer replace boiling water?
Yes. UV disinfection effectively neutralizes bacteria and viruses and is more efficient than boiling for microbiological protection. At the same time, it preserves the natural taste of water and retains beneficial minerals that can be affected by heat treatment.
-
Why is the water sometimes warm when I first open the tap?
If the system has not been used for several hours, the water remains inside the chamber and may absorb heat from the operating UV lamp. This is normal. Simply let the water run for a few seconds until it returns to its usual temperature.
-
Will the UV lamp remove sand, chlorine, or iron from my water?
No. A UV sterilizer is designed exclusively for biological disinfection.
-
Does UV sterilization work in cloudy or turbid water?
No, it is significantly less effective in turbid or cloudy water.
For UV light to neutralize microorganisms, it must physically reach them. If the water contains suspended particles such as sand, silt, or rust, these particles can act as shields. Bacteria may “hide” behind them and pass through the chamber without sufficient UV exposure. This is known as the shadowing effect.
For reliable biological protection, proper mechanical pre-filtration is required before the UV sterilizer.
