Your questions, answered
-
Can I choose the components of the emergency water supply system?
Yes, it is possible to tailor the emergency drinking water containers to specific needs.
The standard components are:
- dosing station
- sediment filter
- sorption filters
- reverse osmosis filter
Depending on the individual situation, these components might be added to achieve the desired water quality:
- UV sterilisation
-
Are the emergency water systems energy-independent?
Yes, we specifically designed our emergency water systems to be energy-independent.
If you don’t have access to reliable energy, you can operate the emergency water filter system with generators.
-
Can I use the emergency water treatment system together with my existing infrastructure?
Yes, that is possible.
To allow universal usage, the emergency water filter system is fitted with standardised connections, meaning you can easily connect it to your local energy grid or water supply.
-
Do I need a water-treatment specialist to operate the emergency water supply system?
No, anybody who read the manual can operate the emergency drinking water supply system safely.
A number of control devices is installed to help you run the supply system – and if you run into any issues, our support is here for you.
-
Are the emergency water supply systems smart?
While many of our products are IoT-ready, our current emergency water supply solutions aren’t smart.
-
Do I need to use a tank with your emergency water supply container?
No tank is required, but you can install one if it makes sense in your situation.
The emergency water supply can use water directly from any underground or surface water source, but if the water consumption varies greatly and the consumption is greater than the productivity during peaks, a tank can be helpful.
-
Will the emergency water supply work in real-life conditions?
Yes. Most of our solutions have been tested in real-life conditions in Ukraine. They were deployed to refugee camps, hospitals, emergency accommodations, and temporary military camps.
-
How can emergency systems provide safe drinking water?
The Ecosoft emergency systems feature efficient purification technologies, like multimedia filters, water softeners, and reverse osmosis, to deliver safe drinking water.
-
How quickly can emergency systems be deployed?
The Ecosoft fully automated emergency systems are pre-installed. They are transported via standard container carriers to areas where they are needed and used almost immediately without specific deployment.
-
How long can emergency water systems operate continuously?
The uninterrupted run-time depends on a unit. Typically, containerised systems are designed to treat water 24/7.
When an alternative drinking water source is needed to support communities affected by disasters, an emergency water supply is provided using filtration systems to ensure safe, fresh water. In the Ecosoft online shop, there are water treatment solutions designed particularly for such purposes. You can buy our containerised water filtration systems that are easy to adapt to any conditions.
Situations Requiring Emergency Water Supply
During infrastructure failures, resulting from natural disasters, wars, or tap water contamination, drinking water is expected to be delivered by local authorities, international humanitarian organisations, and emergency agencies.
We provide reliable portable filtration systems designed specifically for these situations to ensure water safety. Actually, any non-bottled water, including that from wells, streams, and other natural sources, should be purified before use. Even tap water is not of proper quality in some regions and cannot be considered safe to drink. While our treatment solutions with storage space solve the problem.
Mobile and Rapid-Deployment Water Systems
The Ecosoft catalogue contains containerised water filter systems that enable easy and reliable water supply to emergency areas. Purification is possible immediately after simple installation. Our modular water treatment stations and systems are pre-installed; that is why their deployment does not require expert engagement.
They can also be used for water supply to temporary settlements, like mobile camps, processing plants, beverage production facilities, remote data centres, or infrastructure-limited locations. They can operate without electricity. The quality and composition of water can be tailored to specific needs.
Water Purification Technologies for Emergencies
We offer the most reliable purification technologies, such as reverse osmosis and various pre- and post-filters. For instance, our containerised RO system with pretreatment for tap water has a pure water capacity of 100 m³/day. It includes dosing stations, numerous multimedia filters, 4 membrane elements, and thermally insulated containers. The RO system with pretreatment for brackish water having up to 7,500 mg/L of TDS delivers 200 m³/day.
Safe Drinking Water During Disruptions
When the drinking water supply is disrupted, the only way to get it in sufficient amounts is to treat the water from unreliable sources by reliable purification methods, like:
- sediment filters that remove large solid particles;
- carbon filters that absorb chlorine, pesticides, heavy metals, volatile organic compounds, and some microorganisms;
- softeners that replace hard minerals with safe soft ones;
- reverse osmosis membranes that remove over 99% of contaminants from water, including bacteria and viruses.
When all the above methods are involved in one factory-tested system, it is much more possible to achieve the most comprehensive purification.
Maintenance and Preparedness
Our containerised RO systems have a ready-to-use design. They require minimal preparation before operation. The modular setup enables pretreatment with remote monitoring of the water parameters and system state. The stations feature protection systems and come with a set of instrumentation, control devices, smoke alarms, and anti-flood systems. They are equipped with internal lighting for round-the-clock maintenance. The user is expected to replace filters every 6 months and RO membranes every 1-3 years, depending on operating conditions.
