Industrial water cooling that protects your equipment

Remove particles, sand, rust, and more, to prepare the water for further treatment.

Modern RO filters purify the water by removing up to 99% of salts, minerals and microorganisms.

Use ion exchange resins to prevent scale formation on heat exchangers.

Disinfect your water and control bacterial activity with UV sterilisation.

How can I find the ideal setup for water treatment in my data centre?
We’d love to help you find the perfect water treatment solution for your data centre.
There are many factors to consider when planning the water treatment setup, and our engineers know all about them:
- What’s the quality of the inlet water?
- What’s the required capacity for the purification system in cubic metres per hour/day?
- How often will the cooling water circulate in your system? How does the composition change with each circulation?
- What’s the required pressure in your water cooling system?
If you decide to hire Ecosoft for the water treatment setup in your data centre, our engineers will help you with finding answers to all of those questions and choosing the right products for your needs.
When doing so, our experts don’t just look at the technical details though: they also consider economic efficiency, total cost of ownership (TCO), consumption of energy, reagents, and consumables, as well as maintenance.
They will help you in finding the ideal products for your data centre by thinking of every aspect of your water treatment system.

Do I need a reverse osmosis filter in my data centre?
Yes, a reverse osmosis (RO) filter is always recommended for water cooling systems in data centres.
While they could technically work without a RO filter, this would make getting the right purification level for your cooling water much harder and is likely to lead to operational challenges and an increased risk of system failures.
Reverse osmosis filters are particularly effective in reducing water hardness and total dissolved solids (TDS), which is critical to prevent scale formation on heat exchangers, nozzles and other elements of your water cooling systems.
-
Can I use Ecosoft water treatment systems together with my existing infrastructure?
Yes, that is possible.
The universal construction of our water treatment systems allows for a very easy installation as well as combination with other brands.
It also allows you to connect a number of filters and other products in series to achieve the perfect cooling water quality for your data centre.

What are the steps of the water purification process for the cooling water in my data centre?
The exact steps required to achieve ideal cooling water in your data centre depend on a number of factors, but here are some of the most common water treatment processes:
Sediment filtering
Depending on the water quality in your location, the first step might be to remove any suspended particles like sand or rust from the soon-to-be cooling water.
Oxidation or Ecomix purification
If necessary, an oxidation process followed by another filtration step is added to reduce the levels of iron and manganese in the water, which can oxidise in your cooling water and clog nozzles or promote corrosion. Here at Ecosoft, we implement our patented Ecomix purification technology for this step.
Water softening
An ion exchange process or reverse osmosis removes, calcium and magnesium from the water – they are the primary factors in scale formation on heat exchange surfaces and can accelerate corrosion. If you need to remove other salts, TDS or silica (SiO₂), you might need to add a reverse osmosis step to your water purification system.
Biocide disinfection
When bacteria, algae and other microorganisms are present in water cooling systems, they could lead to biofilm formation and microbiologically influenced corrosion. You can control their growth in your data centre with the help of biocides.
-
Are your products for data centre water treatment smart?
Yes, we do have a number of smart products for water treatment in data centres.
We know that monitoring performance is key in the smooth operation of data centres, which is why we’ve developed a number of IoT-ready products such as reverse osmosis filters to purify your cooling water.
-
Do I need to use a tank with your water purification systems in my data centre?
No, you don’t need to use a tank with our purification systems for the cooling water in your data centre – the purified water flows into your cooling water circuit directly.
