Specifically developed for coffee professionals, the Ecosoft RObust COFFEE direct flow reverse osmosis system delivers up to 75 L/h of purified water with a mineral balance that meets Specialty Coffee Association standards. By optimizing water quality, it enhances flavor consistency and extends the service life of coffee equipment in cafés, roasteries, and barista stations.
The tankless, space-saving design fits neatly under counters and is engineered for up to 20 hours of continuous operation daily, ensuring stable performance even in high-demand environments. Technical information
The RObust COFFEE direct flow reverse osmosis filter is designed for cold water purification only.
Pressure monitoring
The front panel features two pressure gauges:
- Inlet pressure gauge – shows pressure after the pre-filters.
- Pump pressure gauge – shows pressure after the membrane block.
1 This value only applies to the RObust 1500, RObust 3000MAX, and RObust 4000 models.
Pre-filtration cartridges
Replace pre-filters after 3,000 liters of water filtration or at least every 3 months.
- If the pressure after the pre-filters drops below 1 bar, the cartridges may be clogged.
- Delaying replacement may damage or reduce the lifespan of the membrane.
Reverse osmosis membrane
With a significant drop in system performance, replacement of reverse osmosis membranes is required. Replace after filtering 30,000 liters or at least once per year if filtration speed decreases.
Post-filtration cartridge
Replace if taste deteriorates or odor appears, after 5,000 liters or at least every 3 months.
Important: Replace all cartridges together as a set.
Downtime maintenance
If unused for over 2 weeks, disinfect before resuming use (procedure in the user manual).

Which TDS do I need for the perfect brew and can I achieve it with Ecosoft?
Yes, Ecosoft water treatment systems can help you reach the TDS levels recommended by the SCA.
The SCA suggests a TDS range of 75–250 ppm, but it’s important to remember that the composition of total dissolved solids plays a major role in how your coffee tastes. With an optimal balance of calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg), the RObust COFFEE creates water that enhances the unique aromas and flavors of each coffee bean.

Do I need to use a tank with your water purification systems in my café?
While it’s not strictly necessary to use a tank with our water filtration systems, we do recommend it.
Using a tank helps stabilise TDS levels in the water, which results in more consistent coffee flavour.

What TDS levels can I achieve in my café with your water purification systems?
The exact TDS levels vary by product:
- RObust COFFEE achieves TDS levels of 60–120 ppm
- RObust Mini, RObust 1500 and similar models achieve 10–30 ppm
Some of our systems, like the RObust COFFEE, allow you to adjust the TDS level using flow restrictors. These restrictors are included in your café kit, and instructions can be found inside the box or under Downloads on this page (left sidebar).

What TDS is required for the inlet water?
The required TDS level of the inlet water depends on the filter model.
All our RObust reverse osmosis filters require a TDS level of 1,000 ppm or less except for RObust Coffee. For this one the required TDS is 150-500 ppm.
